Monarch 0.2.5 — the biggest Monarch update yet

A new interface, Computer Use, a major Oscar update, new local models, memory, voice, Security, and an early Studio arrive in one release.

What changed

Home, chat, settings, history, models, Voice, Modules, and Security now share a cleaner design with fewer nested panels and duplicate controls.

Oscar can see windows, open and close apps, click, type, and scroll. It checks the result after acting, and you can stop control immediately.

It is better at separating your command from pasted material and turns complex work into clear steps.

The plan, current step, stop action, errors, and final result are shown more reliably.

Monarch resumes interrupted answers more cleanly and restores history and images after restart.

Choose Basic 2B, Basic 12B, and Pro 27B using a hardware-aware recommendation, install several, or add them later in Settings.

You can enter Monarch immediately, with a simple step-by-step guide and exact links available for manual setup.

After the model step, a smooth Beta welcome appears once and can be skipped with any click or key.

Auto and manual selection now live in one compact control, with a clear memory warning for larger models.

Monarch explains important actions before they happen and checks the outcome afterward.

Memory keeps chats and code projects separate, communication profiles can be selected per task, and Skills are easier to find through “+” or “$”.

Saved voice presets, speed, and intonation are available, and long dictation no longer stops after 12 seconds.

External image generation now uses explicit consent, while Studio Alpha introduces photo work, a basic video timeline, and export.

New plain-language modes, risk scoring, and a reaction log. Security is an additional tool, not an antivirus replacement.
